Betty Lou Roberson Totherow, age 85 of Murphy, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025.
Betty was born in Cherokee County to the late Herman and Norma Stiles Roberson. She worked in textile production as a line worker at OMC. Betty loved gardening, word searches, watching game shows, eating Oreos, spending time with her family, playing Bingo and working at the Senior Center. She also loved making jelly, taking part in GLOW luncheons and going to church. Betty was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marble.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Ben Talmadge “Tal” Totherow; and her infant daughter, Marilyn Totherow.
She is survived by her sons, Mitchell Totherow (Glenda) and Chris Totherow (Sonja); her daughters, Sheila Weidner (Bill), Angie Reagon and Michelle Crawford (Rickey); her brothers, Richard, James and Hoyt Roberson; Marcil Hurt, Glenda Mcnabb, Janice Jordan and Sandra Smith; her grandchildren, Rebecca Homan (Mathew), Nathan Weidner (Stephanie), Barrett Davis, Heather Totherow, Josh Matheson, Cain Matheson (Maggie), Zachary Matheson (Lucy), Brittany Shook (Brandon), Brooklyn Shook, Christian Totherow, Ashley White (Christian), Noah Davis, Brianna Crawford and Laureen Crawford (Wade); and several great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Pastor Harold Stiles, Pastor Carroll Roper, Pastor Les Seal and Pastor Kenny White officiating. Burial will be at Mt Zion Baptist Church in Marble. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
