Dorothy Leigh Walsh Yonce, age 97 of Murphy, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
Dorothy was born in Cherokee County to the late Grover Andrew and Martha Ada Pipes Walsh. She was a member of the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James David "JD" Yonce; her daughter, Sharon Lee Hunsucker; and a great granddaughter, Willow Raxter. She was the last living out of her 10 siblings.
She is survived by her son David Bruce Yonce (Jan); her daughters, Diana Carol Dockery and Dottie Raxter (Tony); her grandchildren, Brittany Luther (Bryan), Graham Raxter (Breeze), Chris Dockery, Christa Dockery, Jessica Mashburn (Ryan) and Kyle Hunsucker (Michelle); and 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. Tony Raxter officiating and Jason Killian officiating graveside. Burial will be in Peachtree Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, April 5, 2025 prior to the funeral service.
