Obituary for Kenneth Dean Payne

Kenneth Dean Payne, "Radar", passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 with his son by his side. Radar was 65 years old. He resided in Clay County, NC.

Radar was a land surveyor for many years. He loved being outdoors. Outside of work, Radar enjoyed studying meteorology, and was an avid reader. He could tell you anything about U.S. History. Radar also loved NASCAR and music. He was very talented with his guitar. Radar loved animals, including his dogs and especially his cat.

Radar was always happy to see his grandchildren, to whom he was Papaw. Radar and his children's mother, who he held so close to his heart, were best friends. He was very proud of his son and daughter.

Radar leaves behind many family members who loved him very much.

A celebration of life service was held on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Murphy, where loved ones shared memories and music of Radar.
