Evelyn Marie Gladson Allen, age 83 of Murphy, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Evelyn was born in Cherokee County to the late Carl Emory and Ruby Irene White Gladson. She was a cafeteria cook. Evelyn loved completing word puzzles, going to church singings and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star - Martha Chapter #246 and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil C. Allen; brother, Johnny Gladson; her sister, Rethel Rogers; and an infant sister, Loretta Gladson.
She is survived by her sons, Darrel Allen (Debbie) and Danny Allen (Marcia); her brother, Jimmy Gladson; her sister, Jean LeFevers (Hoyt); her grandchildren, Cody Allen (Shanelle), Caleb Allen (Kayliegh), Mathew Allen and Chris Allen (Cait); and her great grandchildren, Adriana Allen, Ezra Allen, Elijah Allen, Ruthie Allen, Isla Allen and Rhyatt Allen.
A funeral service will be held at 6pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. Gerald Derraberry and Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating.
A graveside service will be held the following day at 12pm on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Elrod Family Cemetery in Hiawassee Dam. Pallbearers will be Mathew Allen, Chris Allen, Ezra Allen, Cody Allen, Caleb Allen and Matt Gallmen. Honorary pallbearer will be Dalton Campbell.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy prior to the funeral service.
