Paul Douglas Parent, age 91 of Topton, NC passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025.
He was born in Natalbang, Louisiana to the late Harry and Lizzie Parker Parent. Paul was a US Air Force and US Marine veteran. He retired from AT&T with 38 years of service as a central office foreman. Paul loved cooking and traveling. He enjoyed taking his family and friends rafting. Paul was a LSU fan. He was a member of the Andrews Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Parent; two sons, Doug Parent (Yansi) of El Paso, TX and Mark Parent (Tammy) of TN; one step son, Allen Jones (Barbara) of Chatsworth, GA; two daughters, Denise and Dawn of LA; one step daughter, Marilyn Cope (Kenny) of Nantahala; one brother, Bobby Parent of LA; one sister, Sean of Louisiana of TX; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews with military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #96 Murphy, American Legion Post 532 Hayesville, VFW Post 6812, Hayesville, NC and the Marine Corp League Marble, NC.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
