Obituary for Attle Morrow

Attle Morrow, 89 of Murphy passed away Friday, April 4, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Murphy and lived all his life in Cherokee County. Attle worked at the EXXON Station on the corner of downtown Murphy, Johnny Roberson's Service Station, and Coats American until he retired. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. Attle enjoyed collecting coins, afternoon rides around Murphy, and enjoyed friends stopping by his house. He enjoyed reading his Bible every night. He loved being outside and working outside on projects.

He was the son of the late Simon Peter Morrow and Dawnie Baker Morrow. Attle was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hartford, Hobert, and Evert Morrow; and a sister, Lucille Morrow Ware.

Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Barbara McClure Morrow; a son, Donnie Morrow and wife Pamela; a daughter, Debbie Whitmore and husband, Mark; three grandchildren, Jessica Anderson, Ryan Morrow, and McKensie Whitmore; and one great granddaughter, Emma Kindy.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 6, 2025 in the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Pastor Ralph Barnard and Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Dockery, Jesse Anderson, John Anderson, Danny McClure, Johnny Luther, and Ryan Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Cole, Ricley Palmer, and Ed Fry.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Sunday, April 6, 2025 prior to the services at Townson- Rose Funeral Home, Murphy.
