Obituary for Climpson Maney

Climpson Maney, age 86 of Hayesville, NC passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC and the son of the late Bartow James and Rose Lee Watkins Maney. Climpson worked for Haig Davenport, the "rolling store" grocery. He started his career in poultry with Wayne Holland. He was manager at Burnett Poultry for 21 years; he retired in 1995. Climpson loved to coon hunt. He was a member of Shooting Creek Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Reynolds Maney and second wife, Madge Foster Maney; a step-son, Roy Foster, Jr.; one grandson, Darrell Gribble; one brother, Glenn Maney and sister, Ora Davenport.

He is survived by one son, Ronnie Maney and wife Mary of Hayesville; two daughters, Barbara Jean Gribble and husband Tommy Ray of Hayesville and Anna Dean Penland and husband David of Hiawassee, GA; one step-daughter, Linda Russell of Cartersville, GA; one brother, Clifford Maney of Hayesville; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Scott Demers and Rev. Kenny Kilby will officiate. Music will be provided by Mike Garrett. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chet Hogsed, Harold Dean Parker, Keith Maney, Austin Gibson, Randy Penland and Henry Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Maney, Rex Maney, and Daniel Davenport.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
