Obituary for Curnis Wilson

Curnis Wilson, age 74 of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

He was born in the Nantahala Community to the late Raymond and Hazel Passmore Wilson. Curnis retired from Coats America as a Fixer after 36 years of service. He was a member of New Martins Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Murial Morgan and one brother, Paul Wilson.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Wilson; one son, Jeff Wilson (Jill); one daughter, Heather Nelms; one brother, Charles Wilson (Mary); six sisters, Willa Mashburn (Larry), Connie Wilson, Ruth Garland (Robert), Diane Blanchard (Clayton), Della Yonce (Ronnie), and Susan Mason (John); six grandchildren, Madelyn Wilson, Evan Wilson, Lily Wilson, Cameron Yates, Kyra Yates, and Eli Carver; and one great granddaughter, Adelynn Carver.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, January 9, 2025 at New Martins Creek Baptist Church (2130 Hedden Rd, Murphy). Rev. Paul Ray Morgan and Rev. Mark Alexander will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Kenny Beavers officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm, Friday, January 9, 2025 at New Martins Creek Baptist Church.
