Cynthia Marie Emert, age 66, of Murphy, NC passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026.
She was born in Malvern, PA to the late Charles and Lucy McMillian Simmons. Cynthia worked as an Ophthalmic Technician. She loved reading books, watching old westerns and fishing. Cynthia loved her furbabies, and especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Emert; and two sisters, Laura Mears and Denise Simmons-Giblin.
She is survived by her children, Eric Fields and Josh Fields both of Tennessee, and Megean Guffey (Matt) of Marble, NC; one brother, Charles Simmons (Georgetta) of Greenwood, Indiana; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
