Jake David "JD" Mann, age 72 of Murphy, NC passed away Wednesday October 19, 2016. He was born August 8, 1944 to the late Glenn and Ella McClure Mann. He was a member of Mount Liberty Baptist Church and a Vietnam Veteran (1965-1967).
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie Mann; sisters, Francis Radford and Linda McDonald and brothers, Rex Mann, Jerry Mann and Junior Mann.
He is survived by his wife Stella Stiles Mann; son Jason David Mann of the home; sisters, Shirley Patterson of Cummings, GA; Betty Mann of Hayesville, NC and Carolyn Mintz of Murphy; brothers; Clay Mann of Hayesville, and Larry Calvin (LC) Mann of Soddy-Daisy, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. The service was conducted by his nephew, Chris Green of Greenville, SC. Burial will be in the Swanson Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the V.F.W. Post #10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post #96 and D.A.V. Chapter #73 and American Legion Post #532 of Hayesville and V.F.W. Post #6812 Hayesville. Pallbearers will be Larry Mintz, Travis Decker, Bob Hamby, Kenneth Dockery, Russ Atkins and Richard Peterson.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC.
