Verla Maxine Rose, age 84 of Richmond, Kentucky and formerly of Lenoir City, TN and Murphy, NC passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Kentucky.
She was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Allen and Cora Davis Bryson. Maxine was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and crafts. Maxine was a member of the Dixie Lee Baptist Church in Lenoir City, TN and an Eastern Star Chapter #23055 Summerset Kentucky.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Rose; sister, Willa Mae Rose of Murphy; brother, Allen Bryson, Jr. of Murphy and Howard Bryson of the Unaka community and; one grandson, Joshua Rose.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Rose and wife Phyllis of Richmond, Kentucky and Michael D. Rose and wife Laura of Owensboro, Kentucky; one brother, Dee Bryson of Julian, NC; three grandchildren, Allen, Matthew and Adam; and one great-grandchild, Skylar Rose.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Dr. Chester Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Unaka Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 12-1:30 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
