Obituary for Wilton Ensley

Wilton Ensley, age 80 of Andrews, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.

Wilton was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County. He was a son of the late William and Effie Logan Ensley. Wilton was an US Army veteran. He was a heavy equipment operator. Wilton was a deacon and active member of Valley River Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Austin, Vean, Melvin and Ronald Ensley; two sisters, Doris Grogan and Mildred Woody; and one infant grandson, Logan Mack Clodfelter.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ethel Ensley; daughter Elaine Clodfelter and husband Lynn; granddaughter, Hailey Lyn Clodfelter; one sister Nova West and husband Billy; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Valley River Baptist Church. Rev. Roy Phillips will officiate. Music will be provided by the Valley River Baptist Church Quartet. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Clark, Kenney Clark, Darrell Clark, Tony Bateman, Rick Hamill and Stanley West. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Valley River Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews, NC where the body will remain until being placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service hour.
