Jerry Hudson, age 80 of Andrews NC passed away Sunday April 29, 2018 at his residence.
He was the son of the late Rollie Raymond and Vera Marshall Hudson. He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church of Andrews and attended mass at Prince of Peace in Robbinsville. Jerry was a US Air Force veteran and he was involved in the space program in Florida. After moving to Andrews, he worked at Magnavox and Baker Furniture. After his retirement, he took great pleasure in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry enjoyed being outdoors in the summer, building fires, playing trivia with his friends and taking trips.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Hudson Prather; sisters, Aggie, Maureen and Shelia and son-in-law, Robert Simpson.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sally Hudson of Andrews; daughters, Linda Simpson of Andrews and Julie Norcross and husband John of Robbinsville; son, Dan Hudson and wife Susan of Robbinsville; brothers, Ray Hudson of Colorado and Lowell Hudson of Alabama; brother-in-law, Gary Fox of Kansas; sister-in-law's, Sonya Moore and Priscilla Baker of Wyoming; grandchildren, Drew Norcross of Robbinsville, Chad Prather and wife Holly and Shay Simpson all of Andrews; great-grandchildren, Maleia and Kellan and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Andrews. Father George Byers will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Friday May 4, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Andrews Food Bank, 122 Main Street Andrews NC 28901.
