George Barry Oliver, age 77 of Hayesville, NC passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
He was born in Alabama to the late Earl James and Loretta Williams Oliver. George was a US Air Force veteran. He worked for SeaWorld as a safety and security guard. George was the former President of the Clay County Lion's Club and the Clay County Sheriff's Auxiliary. He was a member of the American Legion Post 532 of Hayesville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Oliver.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Britt Oliver; one daughter, Lori Kathryn Johnson and husband Jay; one step-sister, Patricia Williams; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 6 pm, December 12, 2019 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. John Bailey will officiate.
