John Dustin Hughes, age 41, native of Murphy NC, sadly left us on January 31, 2024. Dustin was born on November 29, 1982 to John Perry Hughes of Murphy and Mary Evelyn Farmer of Murphy.
Dustin was a turf installer, enjoyed traveling the country with his job, and spreading his talent and love everywhere he went. He was an amazing artist and musician, his latest passion included crafting handmade knives. Dustin made a friend everywhere he went, with a contagious smile, and his love for his family was unmeasured.
Dustin is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Gertrude Hughes and maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Evelyn Farmer.
He is survived by his father Perry Hughes of Murphy (Teresa); mother, Mary Farmer of Murphy (Kim), sister Ashley Napolitano of St Louis (Ralph). One uncle, Ken Farmer (Beth), one aunt, Phyllis Hughes. Dustin’s nephew and nieces, Jadyn Furgason, Evie Napolitano, and London Napolitano. His first cousins, Alex Farmer, Jennifer Pitman, Melanie Dyer, Hope Dyer, and many other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, February 9, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy. Rev. David Feathers and Rev. Rob Rollins will officiate. Graveside service will follow for family and friends at Bellview Cemetery in Murphy.
Visitation will be from 1pm – 2:00pm at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home prior to the services.
