Elizabeth Irene Wilson Ledford, age 75, of Hayesville, passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on February 17, 2024 after a short stay in Mission Hospital in Asheville. Irene was born on the Cherokee Indian Reservation to the late Clarence “Banjo” Wilson and Virginia “Daisy” Rogers Wilson of Peachtree, NC, and she was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church, in Hayesville.
Irene is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Wallace Ledford, of Hayesville; son, Daniel I. Ledford (Chastity), of Cornelia; daughter, Keisha Ledford, of Hayesville; three grandsons, Trevon McMickens, Taeshawn McMickens, Kian Gregory; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, February 26, 1:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hayesville. Rev. Ricky Wilson officiating.
