Obituary for James Stuart Sistrunk

James Stuart Sistrunk, age 73 of Brasstown, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Stuart was born in Cherokee County to the late David and Sue Juanita Fuller Sistrunk. He worked at an auto dealership in the service department. Stuart enjoyed watching Nascar, tinkering on vehicles and reading. He also loved spending time with his family. Stuart was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church and was also a United States Marine Vietnam veteran. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Robert David Sistrunk, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Robertson Sistrunk; his daughters, Jessica Rose Myers (Chad), Missy Hooper and Debbie Stovall; his brothers, Jerry Sistrunk (Marsha), Ernie Sistrunk (Wanda), John Sistrunk and Ronnie Sistrunk (Dawn); his sisters, Dolly Sue Rogers, Colleen Swanson (Larry) and Julie Maney (Virgil); a special sister-in-law, Montez Sistrunk; his grandchildren, Matthew Myers, Wesley Buchanan (Mollie), Chloe Hooper and Danelle Stovall; one great grandchild, Maisie Buchanan; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be his brothers and grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy prior to the funeral service.
