Obituary for Daniel Earl Moss

11/29/1984 - 02/25/2024

Daniel Moss, age 39, of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

He was a native of Clay County, NC. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Moss and the late Carroll Moss.

Daniel Moss left this world with a legacy to be proud of. For everyone that knew him, our lives are better because of our time with him. He was a solid and steadfast man. Daniel was lighthearted and funny. He was always quick with a joke and the first to try to make someone laugh. Daniel had a laugh that if you heard it once, you would never forget it as it was big and boisterous and sometimes with a "whew hoo" threw in for good measure. He grew up in a loving family with solid roots. Daniel found faith in God. Those things, God and family, would anchor his life. He grew up surrounded by his brother, his sister and countless cousins who could share countless stories about his antics and jokes. The mischievous boy who would ride in the front seat of the bus his mom drove because he was acting up, again. All of these stories are Daniel Moss.

He grew up and he stayed the same crazy soul who would make you laugh, played music for the Lord and began to work with the youth ministry. Daniel dreamed of a family of his own and he found that in his wife, Kendra and daughter, Kenley. Little did he know when they met, that the blessings would keep on going and they added three more to the tribe. Proud would be an understatement due to what kind of husband and father he was. His dream was a reality and he loved them with all he had. God knew exactly what he was doing when Daniel Moss was born into this world and the people that would cross his path. Daniel left a legacy of family, of love, of faith and countless friendships with kids whose lives have been shown a path to God and faith because he cared.

Daniel enjoyed playing his electric and acoustic guitar at church and at home. He also enjoyed being a Youth Leader and watching the kids get closer with God. Daniel and his brother Derek Moss also owned their own business call Mountain Lawnscapes where they did construction and lawn care.

He is survived by his wife, Kendra Hensley Moss of Sylva, NC; three daughters, Kenley Hensley, Kadence Moss and Karoline “Kyky” Moss of Hayesville, NC; one son, Kendrix Moss of Hayesville, NC; one brother, Derek Moss of Hayesville, NC; one sister, Cheyenne Moss Whitlow and her husband Jonathan Whitlow Hayesville, NC; and three nieces, Autumn Whitlow, Aubrey Whitlow, and Ava Whitlow of Hayesville, NC.

A funeral service will be held 2pm on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Catalyst Church in Hayesville with Rev. Brandon Matheson, Rev. Wayne Matheson and Rev. Steve Cothren officiating. Burial will be in Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Moss, Dakota Matheson, D.J. Ricks, Chad Matheson, Jonathan Whitlow and Daniel Anderson.
