Jerry Joe Patton, age 62 of Murphy, NC passed away Friday June 2, 2017. Jerry was the son of Frank and Lillian Martin Patton. Jerry was a loving husband and father. Jerry enjoyed gardening, woodworking and loved helping people. Jerry was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, RJ, Paul and Morris Patton; sister-in-law, Phyllis Patton; brother-in-laws, Merle Kephart and Randal Anderson.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Brenda Patton; sons, Dr. Morris Patton and Jeremiah Patton and wife Samantha; sisters, Joyce Kephart and Carol Anderson and two sister-in-laws, Helen and Ruth Patton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday June 5, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Eddis Dockery and Rev. Keith Raper will officiate. Pallbearers will be Larry Kephart, Andrew Cheeks, Norman Roberts, Aaron Roberts, Alex Roberts and Stephen Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Maney, Claude Craig, Max O'Dell and Kenneth Dockery. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Sunday June 4, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Murphy.
