Myrtle Garrett Chambers age 83 of Murphy passed away Saturday July 1, 2017 at Murphy Medical Center. She was the daughter of Will and Anna Lunsford Garrett. Myrtle was of the baptist faith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, being a homemaker, spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Her life centered around her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Luther Chambers; son, Dennis Garland Huskins and daughter, Donna Kay Chambers.
She is survived by her son, Darrell Chambers of Murphy; daughter, Deborah Huskins of Marble; brother, Bill Garrett of Thomasville, NC; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday July 4, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Ralph Barnard will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bobby Rogers, Chance Rogers,Greg Huskins, Gavin Huskins, Travis Huskins and Brandon Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Cook and Lawson and Leyton Bailey. Burial will be in Moss Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday July 3, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Murphy.
