Mike Langley, age 82 of Hayesville, NC passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, Hiawassee, GA.
Mike was a native of Atlanta, GA. He was a son of the late Joe and Bessie Coleman Langley. Mike was a member of Moss Memorial Baptist Church and had retired from Railroad Publication Bureau. He was an US Marine during the Korean Conflict. Mike loved sports as a player and a coach. He will be remembered by many as "Big Mike" during many years in Clay County as an umpire.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Martin Langley.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Langley; children, Michael Langley and wife Ann, Jennifer Langley Bassett and husband Billy, Kelley Langley, Jim Rhinehardt, Jason Rhinehardt and wife Michelle and Myra Rhinehardt O'Connor and husband Mark; grandchildren, Michael, David and Zach Langley, Clint Duckwall, Andrew Stover, Jessica Bassett, Christopher and Kyle Rhinehardt, Cayce Ledford and Kelli Glass; great-grandson, Tate Ledford; brother, Pat Langley and sister, Alta Langley Shoemaker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 PM, Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Charles Shelton will officiate. A private family burial will be at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 4-5 PM, Sunday at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
