Obituary for Belva Jean Moss Parker

Belva Jean Moss Parker, age 78, of Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County. Belva was the daughter of the late Richard and Alice Nichols Moss. She had worked at Carolina Dress as an inspector. She enjoyed her vegetable garden and loved flowers and cooking. Belva was a member of the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant son, Tony J. Maney; seven brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her sons; Ronnie Maney, Kenny Waldroup (Stacey), Brent Waldroup (Joan), Marvin Waldroup and Jeffery Waldroup (Laquita); her daughters, Phyllis Maney (Danny) and Belinda Waldroup Smith (Roger); her brothers, James Moss, Danny Moss and Arthur Moss; her sister, Charity Scroggs; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Gary Ashe will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Shooting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be sons, Ronnie Maney, Brent Waldroup, Jeff Waldroup, grandchildren, Thomas Waldroup and Eric Waldroup, and son-in-law, Roger Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be sons, Kenny Waldroup and Marvin Waldroup and son-in-law, Danny Maney.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM, Tuesday August 15 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
