Amanda Lucille Raxter, age 89, of Andrews, NC passed away Monday, February 12, 2024.
Lucille was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Pink Wesley and Winnie Fay Jones Leming. She enjoyed camping and singing. Lucille was a member of Andrews First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Raxter; one son, John Darrell Raxter; and one brother, Jerry Leming.
She is survived by two sons, Ted Raxter (Crickett) and Lane Raxter (Marilyn) both of Andrews; one sister, Kay Leming Foy (Mike) of Andrews; one daughter in law, Catherine Raxter of Peachland, NC; five grandchildren, Mary Millsaps (Mike), Dustin Raxter (Zella), John Raxter (Amanda), Jeremy Raxter and Jay Raxter; eight great grandchildren, Ethan Wishon, Brianna, Dante, Channah, Jacob, Taft, Jaxon and Abbigail Raxter; and one great great grandchild, Ashton Wishon.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Andrews First Baptist Church. Rev. Calvin Bobo will officiate. Music will be conducted by Jennifer Farr, Priscilla Cope and Helen Wilson. Burial will be in Valleytown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Andrews First Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 4 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Andrews First Baptist Church.
