William "Bill" Andrew Rose of Murphy passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was a native and lifetime resident of Murphy. Bill was born in Murphy on January 11, 1937. Bill retired from Rose Lumber Mill. He was a member of Hiawassee Baptist Church. Bill's hobbies included beekeeping, gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling out west.
Bill was the son of the late John and Lassie Rose. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Willa Mae Rose; brothers, Wayne Rose and Ralph Rose; and children, Gary Rose, and Sharon Neubauer.
Surviving is a daughter, Deborah Roberts (Roger); granddaughters, Meresa Bronniman (Chris) and Amber Barber (Barrett); a brother, Roy Rose; sisters, Ruth English, Ruby McDowell, Thelma Davis (Joe), and Diane Morrow (Paul); and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 at 1:30pm at Townson-Rose Murphy Chapel with Rev. Larry Shope, Rev. Jim Beasley, and Rev. Mark Crisp officiating. Burial will be in Unaka Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Young, Brian White, Dean Everett, Kyle Hall, Tim Tanner, and Mark Crisp. David Roberts, Larry Stalcup, Dennis Dockery, Neal Kephart, and Frank Rose will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:30 pm at Townson-Rose Murphy Chapel prior to the services.
