Obituary for Randal Bailey

Randal Bailey, age 86 of Culberson, North Carolina passed away at his home on March 7, 2024. Randal was born on March 21, 1937, in Fannin Co. Ga. to the late Claude and Gladys Lowe Bailey. Randal was an Army veteran who was stationed in France during the late 1950's. Later he was an inspector for General Motors and owner of Bailey's Service Station in Canton, Ga. before retiring and moving to Murphy, NC.

Randal was a long-time member and served as deacon at Sweet Gum Baptist Church. He loved his church, family, friends, and his dogs. Randal never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four infant brothers and sister and his wife of 64 years, Peggy Burgess Bailey who passed away May 7, 2023.

He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Bailey, wife Tammy of Murphy, NC, Roger Bailey, wife Alicia of Ball Ground, ga. one daughter Judy Bailey of the home . Four grandchildren, Tessa Going, husband Jonathon, Tyler Bailey, Brett Bailey, and Morgan Lipham, husband Tyler, three great grandchildren, Elijah and Emalyn Going, and Cameron Lipham.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Sweet Gum Baptist Church in Mineral Bluff, Ga. Mr. Bailey will lie in state from 2pm to 3pm prior to the service hour. Rev. Carol Weaver will be officiating. Music will be provided by Cindy Call. Interment will be in the Sweet Gum Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brett Bailey, Jonathon Going, Chuck Burgess, Tyler Lipham, Rusty Call, Mike Townson, Tim Simonds, and David Branch. Honorary pallbearers will be Reed Dillbeck, Ralph Dillbeck, Greg Burgess, and the men of Sweet Gum Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC.
