Donna Jean Martin, passed away peacefully in the warm embrace of Jesus, Saturday, October 21st. 2023. She was a long-term resident of Hayesville, NC, born November 23rd, 1961, in Hollywood, FL to Gene and Julia Reeves. She was a graduate of Tri-County Community College, earning a degree as a CNA. She married the love of her life, Mitchell Martin on August 8th, 1984.
Donna is preceded in death by her father, Gene Reeves. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Mitchell Martin, her three children, Christopher Martin, Mark Martin, and Kalyn Martin. Her mother Julia (Harold) Garrett, four sisters, Terri Knight, Debbie DeLoe, Julie Major, and Dana Reeves Bookholt, and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was nothing short of an extraordinary woman, who actively enjoyed nature, gardening, and tending to all things. God blessed with a heartbeat, especially her many pets. She enjoyed every moment spent with family, sharing memories and endless laughter. But nothing was more precious to Donna than her Grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, and Miles. They were the center of her Universe, and being "Mamaw" was something she held most dear to her heart.
Donna is forever remembered as the free-spirited woman with an infectious smile, that never met a stranger that she couldn't make laugh. Her selflessness is something that could never be matched and will forever live on through those that she touched.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, October 27th, 2023 at Townson- Rose Funeral Home in Hayesville, North Carolina with Rev. Steve Cothren officiating. Flowers and arrangements may be sent to Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm- 6:00 pm prior to the services.
