Marvin James Evans, age 76 of Hayesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
Marvin was born in Cherokee County to the late Gay and Willa Mae Thompson Evans. He worked as an assembler for General Motors. Marvin loved his church at Little Brasstown Baptist where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed helping with seniors and he never missed a Bingo game.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Maxine Evans; his brother, Earnest Evans; a sister-in-law Debbie Evans; and a brother-in-law David Bell.
Marvin is survived by his daughter, Debra "Debbie" Carol Regulski of Baltimore, Maryland; a stepdaughter, Connie White of Murphy; his brothers, Charles Evans and wife Renee, Clay Evans and wife Ann and Paul Evans and wife Lisa, all of Hickory, NC; his sisters, Virginia Wood and husband Rodney of Hayesville, Patsy Wilson and husband Curnis of Murphy, Mary Bell of Hayesville and Margaret Mashburn and husband Harold of Murphy; his grandchildren, Nichole Burgess and Michael Thomas Regulski; great grandchildren, Alexis, Peyton, Ciara and Michael A. Regulski; and one great great grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Little Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Aud Brown and Rev. Mitchell Shields officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bob Byers, Oliver Minor, Kenny Hall, Gary Wilson, Isaac White and Tim White.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023 prior to the funeral service.
