Obituary for Wanda Jean Carter

Wanda Jean Carter, age 70 of Hayesville, went to be with her beloved husband February 8, 2023.

Wanda and Mark had been married for 52 years and made a beautiful home in Hayesville where they raised their two sons Mark Anthony Carter (Jennifer) and Derek Carter. Their legacy will continue through the love and lives of their grandchildren Davis Carter (Erin), Drake Carter and Jenna Carter.

Wanda graduated from Towns County High School and then worked at Clifton Precision for many years until diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992. She always loved to hang out with her sisters, watch and record movies and go to Myrtle Beach to eat crab-legs. Her other hobbies included reading and her flower gardens.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents Boyd and Lilly Waldroup: her brothers, Junior Waldroup, Ray Waldroup and Johnny Waldroup; her sisters, Delores Morgan and Hilda Taylor.

Surviving are her sisters, Joyce Pelot, Geraldine Swords, Theresa Pierson and Vivian Baker; one brother Randall Waldroup; and many nieces, nephews and in laws.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville. Rev. Keith Nuckolls will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hayesville. Pallbearers will be Davis Carter, Drake Carter, Tim Cheeks, Craig Hooper, Jason Elliott and Jared Tanner.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel prior to the funeral service.
