Katherine Northrup, age 75, of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
She was a native of St. Claire County, MI and the daughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Marjorie Young Stringer. She had been a secretary at a Ford Motor Company. She moved from Brandenton Florida to the Murphy area in 1996. Katherine loved church, her family, pets and reading. She was a member of the Hanging Dog Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline A. McCarrick of Murphy, NC; two grandchildren, Cory Allen Duffield and Joey Michael Duffield; two great grandchildren, Zoey E. Duffield and Chloe R. Duffield; brother, Thomas C. Stringer Jr of Carmel, Indiana; sister, Ann Elizabeth Stringer Braly and husband, Richard of Carmel, Indiana; nephew, Kyle C. Collins and his wife, Sara Delane Collins, great nieces, Addison E. Collins and Parker Ann Collins; niece Courtney A. Collins Ballantini and husband, Cory Ballantini, great nephew Graham M. Ballantini; nephew, Travis Braly; niece Courtney Braly Gerving and husband, Josh Gerving, great nieces Georgia J. Gerving and Josephine M. Gerving.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Rev. Greg Swain and Rev. Rondle Bo Ford will officiate.
