Robert Archie Barber, born February 24, 1930, in Cocoa, Florida, to William Claude and Jettie Effie Wilson Barber, passed away May 15, 2024, in Union General Hospital.
Bob was very active all his 94 years. He had cleaned his house, driven himself to town, ran errands, and grocery shopped all on the day he succumbed to a stroke! Bob now rests, waiting the trumpet call of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Stanley, and wife Kathleen.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Betty Wilcox and her two sons, Thomas Barber (Karla) of Lake Placid, Florida, and William Barber of Orlando. Surviving also are his three step-children: Dawn Jaksa (Mike) and Gary Boggs (Bertha) of Murphy, and Michael Boggs (Debra) of Palatka, Florida, three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Murphy. Pastor Craig Fish will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery in Murphy. Pallbearers will be Joshua Hawkins, Barry Courtney, Brent Carter, Byron Hampton, Cody Lee and Jeff.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm prior to the service.
