David Lynn Pugh, age 89 of Murphy, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024.
David was born in Sullivan County, Indiana to the late Richard Evans and Zoanne Juell Pugh. He was an owner operator of a well drilling repair business. David loved woodworking as he made over 12,000 wooden crosses and with 4,000 of those being put in shoeboxes. He was a member of Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Dixon Pugh and Dwight Pugh.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lowe Pugh; his sons, John Pugh of Jacksonville, Florida and James Richard (Jimmy Dick) Pugh of Lake Placid, Florida; a brother, Donald Pugh of Lake Placid, Florida; his grandchildren, Michael Pugh, Reuben Pugh and Nicole Pugh; and one grandchild, David Pugh.
The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. A graveside service will immediately follow at Little Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Aud Brown officiating. Pallbearers will be David Hall, Bob Byers, David Anderson, Dale Fulbright, Buck Chambers and Dave Mereda.
